Patrick MAHONEY died at the home of his brother, William, on Indian Hill, near Laceyville, on Saturday morning last at the age of 78. Before his death he suffered a stroke of paralysis. Funeral was Monday afternoon in the Laceyville Baptist Church, remains to Lacey St Cem. He was foreman on the North Branch canal when it was constructed, and superintended the reconstruction of the old Horse Race dam below Mehoopany after its destruction by the floods of 1865. He was b. in Hartford, CT, came to Wilkes-Barre. Survived by son: Frank of Wilkes-Barre; George & Edward of Indian Hill; Robert of Edgewater, Col. and dau., Mrs Chas R KEENEY, of Laceyville. His wife died nearly two years ago. Three sisters and one brother also survive him.
