Flora had been suffering from consumption for the past year when ex-Sheriff Charles S. Knapp started for Pasadena. Prothononotary Donovan and wife accompanied him. They left Laceyville on Thursday afternoon of Last week and arrived at their destination in Pasadena on Tuesday morning. Mrs. Flora Donovan passed away at 8 a.m. the following day, Wednesday. Mr. Donovan with his wife's body, arrived home at Laceyville by train No. 9 on Monday afternoon. Mrs. Donovan was a member of the Baptist church at her home in Laceyville.
A further article in the Scranton Republican of Wed., 9 Jan 1901 enumerated the Wyoming Co, PA dignitaries including Judge Harvey Sickler, Judge H. W. Bardwell, Wyoming Co. Commissioner Farrer and his cler, George N. Doyle, Deputy Prothonontary Fred Platt, Register of Will W. U. Shaw, District Attorney O. S. Kinner and Superintendent of the Public School Frank H. Jarvis that went to Laceyville to attend the funderal of the Prothonotary John B. Donovan at the Baptist Church there.
Mrs. Flora (Mahoney) Donovan was the mother of at least four children: Pauline Donovan 12 Jan 1895-7 Nov 1896; Infant Son, born and died on 21 Jan 1897; Ronald Mahoney Donovan who died at age 50 on 18 May 1941; and Anna K. Donovan, born 26 Oct 1889-died 26 Aug 1952 all buried in the Lacey Street Cemetery as are her parents.
Her husband returned to Laceyville, PA from Pasadena, California with her body Sunday evening by train; the funeral will take place at 2 P.M. Tuesday from the Laceyville Baptist Church.
