My Great-Great Grandfather

Peter Hart was born in Minden, Montgomery County, New York. I believe his parents were Henry(Henrich)Hart and Anna Eva Kilts, sometimes written as Kiltz/Kills. Peter's birth and baptism is recorded in the Trinity Lutheran Stone Arabia Church in Stone Arabia, Montgomery Co., N.Y.

He lived in Minden his whole life. He is shown in census records of Minden with his wife Polly beginning in 1840 thru 1865. In the 1870 census of Minden, Polly is listed as a widow and is living with her daughter and her son-in-law.

These are some of their children:
Ann Maria, sometimes she went by Maria Ann, b. 1834.
John Jay, b. 1836.
Nancy E., b. 1842
Peter, b. 12-17-1848 at Minden, N.Y.
David P., b. 1850
Martha A. b. 1852, (my great-grandmother).

Some Hart researchers claim the Peter Hart that was baptized in the Lutheran Stone Arabia Church is the Peter Burton Hart that is found in a different county later on. How they made the connection from Peter Hart to Peter Burton Hart is unknown.
