DEATH OF MRS. OLIVE BIRCH. Mrs. Olive Henrie Birch, 85, a resident of Montpelier for 65 years, died Tuesday in the Bear Lake hospital of injuries and shock sustained Friday in Cokeville, when she slipped and fell down the basement stairs while visiting her son, Clarence Birch and family.

Mrs. Birch was born September 15, 1860, in Millville, Utah, the daughter of the late Joseph and Susan Henrie, early Utah pioneers. Her husband, Robert A. Birch, preceded her in death September 5, 1937. She was an early Utah teacher, a member of the L. D. S. church and active worker in the Relief Society. She held various offices in the local chapter of the American War Mothers.

Twelve children were born to the couple, of whom these nine survive: Robert Birch, Willard, Utah; Clarence Birch, Cokeville; Milford W. Birch, Ogden; Henrie Birch, Douglas, Arizona; Russell Birch, Los Angeles; Mrs. W. A. Hart, Boise; Mrs. Ross Quimby, Los Angeles; Mrs. Milton B. Clay, Montpelier; and Mrs. Bruce Young, Pinedale, Wyoming; a sister, Mrs. Edith Howard, American Falls; 22 grand children and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock in the First ward chapel.
