Dies at His Home on Witherspoon Avenue
This forenoon at 10:30 o'clock the family of Nathaniel Baker were called upon to mourn his death at his home on Witherspoon avenue. Mr. Baker was a son a George and Elizabeth Baker who reside in Royalton. He was born Feb. 28th, 1847, in Jackson township, this county. In April, 1861, his parents moved to Royalton and ever since he has been a resident of this place. He was first employed as a laborer until 1878, when he engaged in the barbering business, which occupation he followed ever since. About twenty-one years ago he was married to Maggie Hipple, daughter of Henry Hipple Sr. He was the father of eleven children, ten of whom are living, as follows: Jennie, Bertha, Hallie, Maggie, Clara, Nathan, Percy, Nellie, John and Annie. Two brothers also survive him, John H. and George W., both of whom reside in town. Mr. Baker was at one time a member of the Knights of Pythias. His funeral will be held in St. Peters Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. F. W. Staley will officiate. Interment in the Middletown cemetery.
