JoLyn Stout Fitzgerald 1932 ~ 2010

Our sweet and loving Wife and Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, JoLyn Stout Fitzgerald, was born on May 13, 1932 and died on April 10, 2010.

JoLyn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, the sixth of eight children, to Dewey and Viola Stout.

JoLyn graduated from Granite High School (Salt Lake City, Utah) in 1949.

She married R. Dale Fitzgerald on August 31, 1949, in the LDS Salt Lake Temple, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this past August.

JoLyn was the devoted mother of four children, 22 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren; plus all those that called her "Mum."

JoLyn was employed with several different companies in Utah, Colorado, and California.

Her favorite job was in Accounts Receivable at Shasta Beverages, both in Utah and California where she demonstrated her ability to organize and manage.

She retired from Shasta Beverage in 1987.

JoLyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life.

She spent countless hours in service to others.

Throughout her life she served in many callings, including Stake Primary Secretary in the Mt. Jordan Stake (Draper, Utah); and Young Women's President in the Denver 15th Ward (Denver, Colorado) and as Stake Young Women's Secretary in the Garden Grove Stake (Garden Grove, California).

But JoLyn's heart truly belonged to the Vietnamese people that she had served for over 11 years in the Garden Grove 12th Vietnamese Branch.

Her callings included Primary and Young Women's President and Organist.

JoLyn will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind: Dale Fitzgerald (husband); Dalyn Backes (daughter); Brent (son) and Kona Fitzgerald; Coleen (daughter) and Larry Jacklin; Patrick (son) and Lori Fitzgerald; Donald Stout (brother); Merle Budd (sister); Melvin Stout (brother); and Maureen Eldridge (sister).
