On January 15, 2000 at the age of 95, returned to our Heavenly Father, and has now joined her eternal companion, Dewey Stout.

She was born April 26, 1904 in the Mormon Colony of Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico, a daughter of Byron Harvey Allred and Mary Eliza Tracy Allred.

When eight years old they were driven from Mexico during the revolution and her father died in El Paso while trying to get his family settled.

They moved on to Ogden where she was able to finish her formal education.

One day, Dewey Stout, previously a neighbor in Mexico, stopped by on his way home from France after World War II.

They were married June 22, 1921 in the Salt Lake Temple.

During the 1940's when their resources were at their lowest, the war made employment plentiful, she worked for awhile at Remington Arms, then at Utah Woolen Mills, and some other temporary work.

Church Activity: At 14 she was called as a Sunday School teacher of nine year olds, then leader of the Blazer Boys, Beehive Girls, Junior Seminary 15 year olds, then adults thereafter; Relief Society president, Parent and Child S.S. class, Sunday School Stake Board, then she and Dewey served a two and one half year mission to Mexico.

Dewey passed away July 21, 1962.

At the tender young age of 59 she was called to be the president of the Young Women's Mutual.

It was amazing to see her leading (not necessarily always in front) a large group of girls on a five mile bike ride, or many other strenuous activities.

She also managed to spend many years doing Temple work, and 11 years writing and editing the Ward newspaper.

Through all of these activities, she devoted most of her time raising her continuously growing family.

Survived by three sons, Don (Marie), Byron (Naomi), Mel (LaNeta); three daughters, Merle (Jerry Budd), JoLyn (Dale Fitzgerald), Maureen Clark; 48 grandchildren, 177 great-grandchildren, 33 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Dewey Stout; daughters, Marilyn and Joan; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services: viewing Friday, Jan. 21 at Deseret Mortuary, 6-8 p.m., 36 East 700 So. and 11:30-12:30 before the funeral.

Funeral at Grant Stake Center, 3153 So. 900 East, at 1 p.m. Interment Wasatch Lawn, 3401 Highland Drive.

Funeral Directors, Deseret Mortuary.
