Kathleen E. Royer, 79, of Council Bluffs, died November 13 at Risen Son Christian Village.
She was born July 11, 1925, in Woodbine, to Robert E. and Kate Young Boone. She formerly worked for the FBI during World War II as head messenger girl in Washington, D.C., for one year and also volunteered at the USO. She also worked full and part time at People's Natural Gas for 20 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mrs. Royer was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on August 9, 2004.
Survivors include sons, John of Wichita, Kansas, and Mark and wife, Helen, of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Renee, Lydia and Heather Royer; sisters, Wahneeta McDaniel of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, and Bonnie Summerfield of Dunlap.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church with Pastor David Erickson officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Burial will be in Woodbine at 12:30 p.m.
Memorials may be offered to First Christian Church Building Fund and Alzheimer's Association.
