LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. KATE BOONE

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Heft Funeral Home for Mrs. Kate Boone, with Elder Francis Harper officiating, assisted by Darrell Argotsinger. Music was furnished by Mrs. Lloyd Donn and Mrs. Harold Watkins, accompanied by Mrs. John Robertson. Bearers were Herbert Schraeder, Harlan Thompson, Ralph Summerfield, Lyle Haner, Glenn Waite and Cliff Connelly. Interment was in the Woodbine Cemetery.

Katherine, or better known as Kate, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Young, was born near Woodbine, Iowa, December 31, 1881, and died September 12, 1951, at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 69 years, 8 months, and 12 days. All of her life has been lived near Woodbine.

She was united in marriage to Robert Emmet Boone on May 11, 1903. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1947. Her parents, one sister, Mary, two brothers, Tom and George Young, preceded her in death, also.

She leaves to mourn her passing, seven chil-dren, George, Dennis, John, Charles, Kathleen Elizabeth Boone, Mrs. Bonnie Summerfield, all of Woodbine and Mrs. Wahneeta McDaniel of Hopkins, Missouri. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Edd Young, Dick Young, Mrs. Bessie Hare, all of Woodbine, and Mrs. Fannie Deal of Cameron, Missouri, 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Kate Boone will be greatly missed by all her relatives and friends. She was a kind and devoted mother, always placing the needs of her family before her own. She never tired in helping others in time of need.
