Caroline was born 11 Apr 1907 in the Kern River Valley, CA, where she spent 99 of her 103 years.
She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid gardener, and a talented artist. In between raising her 12 children, she sold crawlers and apples to fishermen, flowers and hand-carved vases to travelers, and an assortment of crafts and painted gourds to collectors. She loved travel, visitors, and family gatherings. Caroline remained independent for 99 years and will be sadly missed by her ever growing family.
She is survived by her sister Margaret Brassfield; son Bill and wife Jackie; sons Dave and Larry; daughters Jane Leavitt, Ann Cleveland, Wanda Hewitt, Darlene Mason, Bonnie McBryant and husband Stan; Peggy Tech and husband Dietmar; 20 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.
Caroline was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Emma; husband Bill; daughter Lorene; sons Emmett and Melvin and grandson Danny.
