CHARLES BOND
Charles Bond, 79, died at 1:30 a.m. at his home following an illness of a year.
He was born April 14, 1869 in Clay County. He was the son of the late Jesse and Mary Bond. He was married to Miss Ada Poore on Oct. 4, 1891 who survives him.
He is also survived by 4 daughters, Mrs. Alzada Shields of Peoria, Mrs. Lela Miller of Canton, Mrs. Katherine Ingle of Wood River, Mrs. Julia Witt of Bethalto; 4 sons, Ben of New Orleans, La., Edward of Staunton, Charles T., and Nelson; 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Thomas Bond of San Diego, Ca., Amos and Jesse of La Porte City, Ia.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Betty King, Mrs. Elsa O'Neal, Mrs. Dollie Sawyer, all of Staunton.
Funeral services were held Thursday with the Rev. J.W. Leonard at the Christian Church officiating. Burial was in Staunton City Cemetery.
