Thomas Valentine was born Concezio Valentini, the son of Matteo and Marianna Serafini Valentini, in Carunchio, Chieti, Abruzzi. He was married to a Domenica Ranni, and when she died in Carunchio, he married Filomena Farina. They immigrated to Newburgh, NY, and Thomas was one of the earliest immigrants of a large contingent of Carunchiese that settled in Newburgh. His sister Mariantonia Valentini Sansiviero (Severo) also came to Newburgh after her husband died. Thomas was a stone mason and also had a grocery store at 199 Washinton St.
