John F. (born Charles) Valentine was the son of Thomas Concezio Valentine and Filomena Farina Valentine, and the husband of Lucy Moreno Valentine. In the 1920's and 1930's he was co-owner of a reed furniture shop. Reportedly his company made the reed (wicker)chair that Charles Lindbergh used in the Spirit of St. Louis.
