SIDNEY E. SHEARS PASSES AWAY FRIDAY
Sidney E. Shears was born in Ohio 1853 and departed from this life Feb.23, 1934 at the age of 80 years, 9 months, 15 days,. at his home on W. Hammond street of this city.
On Aug. 18, 1872, he was united in marriage with Miss Alvira Dymon, who passed away Nov. 15, 1888. To this union six children were born, Mrs. Rose Van Lent and William of Otsego, and John of Gladwin, Isabel, Oliver and Fred deceased. Besides his three children he leave a brother, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Mr. Shears spent most of his life in Otsego and leaves many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Benson chapel Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Martin Raab of Grand Rapids and burial was made in Mountain Home cemetery.
