MINARD SHEARS PASSED AWAY.
Minard Shears, for many years a resident of this township and village, died at his home on East Allegan street, after a long and protracted illness, at 3:00 Wednesday morning.

Mr. Shears was born in the Buckeye state September 1, 1842. He was married October 7, 1862, to Miss Marinda Hammon, who died five years ago.

Mr. Shears is survived by an aged mother, Mrs. Malinda Becker, now 86 years old, five brothers, six sons and one daughter. The brothers are Frank of Northern Michigan, William of Ohio, Sidney of Northern Michigan. Adelbert and Luther of Otsego. The children are: Oscar of Plainwell: Sherman, Bert and Arthur of this place: Barney of Onnalinda, Penn.: Mrs Lydia Ludtke of Roberts, Wis., and Jay of Canada.

The funeral will be held from the home at 10:30 Friday forenoon, conducted by Rev. E.R. Clark.
