Helen Alice Louise Kaufman, 76, of Kiski Township, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, in her home. Born July 9, 1933, in Templeton, she was a daughter of the late Arnold and Emma (Miller) John. She was a graduate of Kittanning High School. She had lived in Kiski Township since 1962 as a homemaker. Helen enjoyed making homemade candy and was a coin collector. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Oscar John; sister, Viola Shindledecker; and a niece, Louise Cooper. Helen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wilmer "Blaine" Kaufman, of Kiski Township; four sons, Allen W. Kaufman, of Benezette, David L. Kaufman, of Iselin, Pa., Paul E. Kaufman, of Kiski Township, and Roger V. (Vicki) Kaufman, of Natrona Heights; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy Bowser, of Dayton, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev.
