Geneva Alice Handley
Geneva Alice Handley, 94, of Brook, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2001 at the George Ade Memorial Health Care Center in Brook.
She was born August 17, 1906 in Rensselaer to William and Ruth (Biggs) Bierley.
She married Ivan Theodore Handley on January 10, 1925 in Kentland. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1996.
A homemaker, she was a lifetime resident of Rensselaer. She wintered with her husband in St. Cloud, Fla., for many years.
She attended the Jasper County Public Schools and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Ivan E. (Jean) Handley of Earl Park and Jeffy D. (Judy) Handley of Chesterton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one great-grandson and four brothers.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 5 at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Jackson Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Greg Crowder officiating.
Burial followed at Weston Cemetery in Rensselaer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church.
