Maria Jane Bray was born in NC in 1765. Her husband Henry Marley was born in NC in 1760. They were married in Indiana according to International Marriage Records 1560-1900. Henry had 200 acres of land in Wilkes County, NC in 1802. Around 1817 they moved from Wilkes County, NC to Lawrence County Indiana along with the Barnes and Chapman families.

Maria & Henry Marley had children; John, Mary "Polly", Anna, Elizabeth "Betsy", Archibald, Benjamin, June, and Jemima. Sons Benjamin & John remained in North Carolina. The other children moved to Indiana where their were marriages to the Barnes & Chapman families.
