Rosella Josephine Clark was born March 28, 1875 at Anita, Iowa and departed from this life at the home of her daughter Muriel Shaver, at Orafino, Frontier County, Nebraska, on the evening of September 21st, 1930, age 55 years, 5 months and 24 days.

On September 13, 1893 she was married to Joseph F. Shirey at Audubon, Iowa. In 1903 they moved to Keya Paha County, Nebraska, where they resided for four years when they moved to Palmer, where they have resided up to the time of her death. She has been a member of the Christian church for many years, being a conscientious and faithful church worker.

Mrs. Shirey was the mother of ten children, two having died in infancy, and an adopted son, LeRoy preceded her in death a few years ago.

She leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband, two sons, Earl and Oral, of Palmer, six daughters, Mrs. Inez Ward of Ord, Mrs. Grace Prowett of Palmer, Mrs. Nancy Burch of Schuyler, Nebraska, Mrs. Muriel Shaver of Orafino, Nebraska, and Mildred and Dorothy at home and six grandchildren, three brothers, B. F. Clark of Orient, Iowa, R. O. Clark, Atlantic, Iowa, and G. G. Clark of Creston, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. C. G. Adrian and Mrs. A. A. Gustason, both of Orient, Iowa, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and a large number of friends.

Mrs. Shirey has been a good, kind, wife and mother. The kind, whose loss to her family cannot be told in words. Her husband and children sure have the utmost sympathy of a very large number of friends for so great a loss of such a fine wife and mother.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church by the local pastor, L. O. Huitt, interment in the Rose Hill cemetery at Palmer. Her two brothers and three sisters, all from Iowa, were here for the funeral. A large floral offering was contributed by relatives and friends.
