"George W. Ownbey, age 79, a lifelong resident of Adair county, passed away Thursday at noon at his home. He had been in failing health for several years. He is survived by two sons, Otis Ownbey of Kirksville and Ernest Ownbey who lived with his father; and one daughter, Mrs. Nora Zabel of Des Moines. Mr. Ownbey was a brother of Ben Ownbey, Sr., who passed away a short while ago. All his children were at his bedtime when death came.
