Allen, OK-Isaacs, Glassye, 105, retired schoolteacher, died Monday. Services 10 a.m. Wednesday, Lovelady Baptist Church (Criswell, Ada).

Services for Glossye Mae Isaacs, 105, Allen, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Lovelady Baptist Church. Revs. Joe Howry and Tony Peak will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. Mrs. Isaacs died Monday, March 29, 2010 at an Allen nursing home. She was born November 22, 1904 at Boma, Tennessee to Julius F. and Dora Lowe Jared. At the age of 10 months, she and her family moved to the Lovelady area, I. T. She attended Lovelady school and graduated from Ada High School. She attended East Central State Normal School where she received her Teaching Certificate, and later received a Master's degree. She married Johnny Isaacs in 1926 at Allen, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. At the age of 20, she started teaching at Steedman and Conway Schools. She taught the first through the 4th grade in a two- room school house. She later taught at Wild Horse near Hominy, and retired from teaching at the Skiatook school system. She was a longtime member of the Lovelady Baptist Church. Survivors includes three granddaughters, Lou Ann Laferry and husband Lloyd, Ada, Kathy Canella, Las Vegas, NV, and Susan Laferry, Oklahoma City; four great grandchildren, Benji, Kevin, Lindsey, and Felisha Rose; three sisters, Lavonia Deaton, Ada, Vivian Jared, Ada, and Margaret Melville, Ada; two brothers, Joe Jared, Hinton, OK and Frank Jared and wife Virgina, Allen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, Johnny James Isaacs, a daughter, Alice Culbertson in 1999, and two brothers, Keith Pete Jared in 2000 and Bill Jared in 1999. Bearers will be Jerry Barrett, Dean Brown, Lynn Wilson, Tommy Deaton, and Odell Deaton.
