ADA-Services for Dolly Lavonia Deaton, 100, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Tony Peak and Coy Howry will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Deaton died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at an assisted living center in Ada. She was born August 21, 1914 at Conway Community to Julius and Dora Lowe Jared. She attended grade school at Lovelady and graduated from Byng High School in 1933.
She married Thomas D. “Dude” Deaton on May 21, 1933. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2003. Mrs. Deaton was a homemaker and a founding member of Lovelady Baptist Church since 1946. She was a member of the Colbert Home Demonstration Club and a member of a quilting club.
Survivors include three daughters, Debbie Christian and her husband Jerry, Pat Coffey and Mary Reynolds and her husband Wendell, all of Ada; a son, Odell Deaton and his wife Pokey of Ada; two brothers, Frank Jared and his wife Virginia of Conway and Joe Jared of Hinton; a sister, Margaret Mellville of Ada; 11 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Anita Meeks and Terri Smith; two brothers, Bill Jared and Pete Jared; and two sisters, Glossye Isaacs and Vivian Jared.
Her grandchildren will serve as bearers.
