WALTER "PREACH" DELO ZUENDEL

Walter Delo Zuendel, seventy-six, died at 5 pm Saturday, at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Alton G. (Effie) Hall of Starr, where he had made his home. He was born December 23, 1896, in Endeavor, a son of Ernest E. and Anna Ledebur Zuendel. In 1958 he moved to German Hill.

For a number of years, Mr. Zuendel worked for Wheeler and Dusenbury Lumber Company. Later employed by the United Natural Gas Company, he worked at the Queen Station and retired in 1962.

A World War I veteran, he served in Company F, 214th Engineers, and was discharged November 18, 1918. He was a member of Gus E. Warden Post, American Legion of Endeavor.

Surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Hall, Mrs. William (A1ta) Brady, and Mrs. Lawrence (Helen) Brady, all of Starr; two brothers: Martin R. Zuendel of Wichita, Kansas, and Chester L. Zuendel of Starr; and twenty-eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roy W. and Reginald E., and one sister, Mary Alice

Funeral services were held at 1:30 pm Tuesday in the James K. Haslet Funeral Home, Tionesta. Rev. Ralph L. Meyer, pastor of the Mount Zion Lutheran Church, officiated. Interment was in the Zuendel Cemetery, Starr.
