ANNA MARIE LEDEBUR ZUENDEL
1-14-1870 -- 5-28-1914

Anna Ledebur Zuendel, widow of the late Ernest E. Zuendel, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Ledebur, was born on German Hill, Green twp., on Jan. 14th, 1870, and died on May 28th, 1914, at her home at Starr post office, not far from the place of her birth. Death came suddenly to this good woman she having been stricken with pneumonia less than a week previously.

Twenty five years ago on the 2nd day of May the deceased became the wife of Mr. Zuendel and together they lived happily until his death two years ago, May 19th, he also having passed away suddenly. To them were born 9 children, namely: Ray, Roy, Reginald, Walter, Mary Alice, Effie, Chester, Alta and Helen.

While residing at Endeavor she and her husband united as charter members with the Presbyterian church at its organization, and she remained faithful and loyal to the tenets of that church to the end of her life. Of a kindly, quiet disposition, devoted to her family, but ever ready to lend a helping hand or do a kindness to her neighbors, her friends were limited only by the number of her acquaintances, and her sudden taking away has cast a gloom over the community in which her whole life was spent.

Besides her children she is survived by her parents and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. J. M. Zuendel and William Ledebur of Starr; Mrs. H. O. Davis and Mrs. George Childs of Tionesta; George, Beulah, and Virginia Ledebur at home with the parents in Tionesta twp.; Mrs. E. W.
Whaley of Tenino, Washington; Mrs. J. W. Bisker of Oil City; Miss Maude Ledebur and Walter H. both of Tionesta.

Funeral services in her memory were held at the Zuendel church Sunday at 2:00 PM, the Rev. J. F. Scherer of Endeavor officiating, and interment was in the cemetery connected with the church, beside the remains of her late husband.
