Delilah Snider, wife of John Snider, in the 60th year of her age. Buried in Section 1,according to Allen County Genealogical Society book on Marion Township cemeteries. John married Elizabeth after Delilah died and Elizabeth is buried next to Delilah in the same row with John and with some of John and Delilah's children. Delilah's stone was originally like the ones for John and Elizabeth, but it is now broken in several pieces and is unreadable. Delilah Beard and John Snider were married in Fayette County Ohio 12 Jun 1820 and moved to Allen county, Indiana in 1837. John and Delilah had eleven children and eight are linked to John and Delilah's memorial. The exceptios are 1. Wilhelm Henry who died the same day as his mother, Delilah and is also buried in the Poe cemetery. 2. Carlisle is buried in Nebraska and can also be found on Find A Grave. In our family bible there is another daughter Maxenda Marinda with no dates. I do not know if she died in Ohio or Indiana. She did not appear on a census and is not mentioned with the family in local histories, so I suspect she died young.
