Harold Z. Van Etten, 81, of Inverness, Fla., formerly of Oswego, died Feb. 29, in Alachua General Hospital in Gainsville, Fla. He was born March 16, 1898 in Bath, Ill.
He is survived by his widow, Florence (Warren) Van Etten, three sons, Robert of Oswego, Harold of Plano, and Warren of Hayward, Wisc.; four daughters, Mrs. August (Dorothy) Seidelman of Oswego, Mrs. William (Enid) Haacker of East Brunswick, N.J., Mrs. Richard (Mary) Lucas and Mrs. Gary (Nancy) Weaver both of Boulder Hill; 28 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Agnes Bell of Cuba, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Caroline Van Etten.
Mr. Van Etten was, for many years, a self-employed contractor in the Oswegoland area. He moved to Florida in 1972.
The funeral was held March 4, at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego with the Reverend Rolla Swanson officiating.
Burial took place in the Oswego Township Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were handled by McKeown-Dunn Funeral Home.
