Mrs. Robert Boyd, nee Shanahan after a lingering illness, passed away at her home last Tuesday (1/17/1939). The funeral exercises were held Saturday forenoon at the Catholic Church in Loda. Many old friends & relatives from this community attended the last rites. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. P. (Patrick) Doyle.

Mrs. Robert Boyd Resident of Loda Community, Dies
Mrs. Robert Boyd, 68, life-long resident of the Loda community and a daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Shannon, who were pioneers here, died in her home, four miles northeast of the village on Tuesday night at 11:20 o'clock.
The deceased, who has been an invalid for the past twelve years, had been bedfast for three years previous to her passing. She is survived by her husband, a son Charles, and a daughter Mae, at home, and a son Jesse, of Danville. She is also mourned by a sister, Mrs. Patrick Doyle, of Buckley.
Funeral rites will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Joseph's Catholic church in Loda.
As Lydia Shannon, she spent her youth in Loda community, attending school & participating in the activities enjoyed by the young people of her age. Later she was united in marriage to Robert Boyd & since that time she has resided in the rural community northeast of Loda. She was a lady of beautiful character and estimable qualities.
