McGUFFEY - Ellen Watson, 79, of McGuffey, died at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday at her home after an illness of ten months.

She was born April 19, 1882, in Mogauffin County, Ky., and had lived in McGuffey 21 years. On April 2, 1911, she married Morgan Watson, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Eva Mullins, Salyersville, Ky., Mrs. Hattie Hartsgraves, 785 S. Metcalf, Lima; a son, Lewis Whitaker, Salyersville; 14 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Montgomery, Circleville and Mrs. Susie England, Salyersville; and a brother, George Brown, also of Salyersville.

She was a member of the Baptist church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hanson Funeral Home, Alger, Rev. Andrew Allen of McGuffey. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.

The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after noon Thursday. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday.
