Caleb Maurice Bailey

Funeral services for Caleb Maurice Bailey, age 89, were held at 2:00 p.m. in the Hedley Church of Christ with Bright Newhouse, Pastor, officiating. Interment was in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley with arrangements under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon.

Mr. Bailey died at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 1992 in Central Plains Hospital in Plainview following a lengthy illness. He was born July 12, 1903 in Lamar County, Texas and was married to Allie Mae Matlock in 1925 in Lamar County, Texas. She preceded him in death on June 18, 1962. He then married Alice Briggs in January 1969 at Ola, Arkansas and she died in June 1986. He had been a resident of Ola, Arkansas for over twenty years and had been a farmer most of his life before his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Ola, Arkansas.

Survivors include three daughters, Louise Brown of Plainview, Mildred King of Amarillo, Opal Nash of Amarillo; two sons, Robert Bailey of Amarillo, Curtis Bailey of Amarillo; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.

Casket bearers were Connie DeBord, Harold White, Blackie Johnson, M.O. Weatherly, Otis Holland, Doyle Messer.
