Willis Welch Bailey, the former Lamar County resident, died Friday at 3:30 a.m. in a hospital at Mount Pleasant, where he had lived the past 13 years.

Born here 15 Mar 1888, he was a son of the late Caleb and Mattie England Bailey.

Last rites, Saturday at 2:00 p.m. will be held in Paris at Gene Roden & Sons chapel, with burial arranged in Evergreen Cemetery.

Surviving are wife, the former Rita Mayfield, and five brothers and sisters; C.M. Bailey and Mrs. Lela Moffitt of Hedley, A.D. Bailey of Tulia, Mrs. Ruth Wheeler of Commerce, and Mrs. Lucy Bishop of Amarillo.
