Mrs. Bertha Edwards Of Jena Succumbs.

Mrs. Bertha Edwards, 77, a life-long resident of Jena, died Monday at 2 p.m. in the Baptist hospital in Alexandria after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were conducted from the Jena First Baptist church Wednesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Grove cemetery near Rhinehart under the direction of Kinner and Stevens funeral home.
Survivors include one son, Jena Mayor Nick Edwards, three daughters, Mrs. Matilda Roberts and Mrs. Marie Stutson, both of Jena and Mrs. Ada Lee McDonough of Kilgore, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Tom Edwards of Jena; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy Campbell, C.W. Breithaupt, James Hodges, Drewett Smith, I.N. Cooper and Allen Fortson.
Honorary pallbearers were Clyde Shannon, Jeff Breithaupt, Talton Rowell, Tommy Adas, Ira Ganey, B.B. Coon, A.G. Owens and Bill Bridges.
