Frank had three siblings; Henry James Mollenhauer (1869-1943), Leonard William Mollenhauer (1871-aft 1940), and Edith Maud (Mollenhauer) Wilcox (1876-1960).
In 1877 the family sailed from their home in Liverpool, England on a White Star Liner to live in the United States.
On June 8,1894, Frank married Adelaide Garrison in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. The couple had four children; Gladys (Born in 1898), Raymond F.(Born in 1899-died in infancy), Mabel (1901-1998), and Frank John Jr. (1907-1986)
Frank and Adelaide lived most of their married lives in New Jersey.
In 1898, Frank was an expert engraver in New York City. It was reported by the Australian McIvor Times and Rodney Advertiser that he had successfully engraved the 26 letters of the alphabet on an ordinary-sized pin's head.
The 1900 US Census indicates that Dorcas Mollenhauer ((Age 60), then a widow, was living with her son Frank (Age 26), her daughter-in-law Addie (Age 25), and her grand-daughter Gladys (Age 2) at 197 Handcock Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey. The 1900 US Census indicates that Adelaide had given birth to two children before 1900, but that only one was still living.
The 1910 US Census indicates that in April 1910 Frank , his wife Adelaide, and their three children; Gladys (Age 12), Mabel (Age 8) and Frank John Jr. (Age 2) were living at 1228 Clay Avenue, Burough of Bronx in New York City.
At the time of his death, in 1928, Frank and his wife Adelaide lived at 934 Michigan Avenue in Miami, Dade County, Florida.
