Guy Conley, 54, of Van Lear, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday February 21, at his home after an illness of several months.

He was the son of the late Green and Mollie Burk Conley, and was born March 15, 1910 in Johnson County

he had been a life long resident of Van Lear and was a member of the First Christian Church. He attended Kentucky Christian College and was a member of the Phi Delta Socority.
Mr. Conley attended Van lear Schools andwas a part President of Van Lear P. T. A. while attending school,He was a member of the High School Band and the glee club.He was a leader of the Van Lear Boy Scouts.He attended College in Arkansas.

Suvivors include five brothers, Stewart and Bearl Conley, VanLear; Charles and Henry Conley, Ashland, and Scott Conley,Middlesboro; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jasper, Mrs. Jack Strattonand Miss Sophia Conley, Van Lear.

Funeral services were conducted February 23 at 1:30 p.m. with the Revs. Charles Saunders and Cecil Sherman officiating.
Pallbearers were Everett Hall, Jess Songer, Carrol Williamson,Otto Baldridge Jr. Paul Sheets, and Dr. W.M. D. Blair.
Burial was in the Cumbo Cemetery at West Van Lear under the direction of the Jones & Preston Funeral Home.
