COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 02/07/1964
John J. Kiefer, a retired employee of the Belknap Hardware & Manufacturing Company, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He had been ill for the past two years. Kiefer, 75, was a blacksmith and machinist for Belknap for 43 years before his retirement. He was a native of Louisville. He lived in Lynn Acres Apartments, 106 E. Kingston. Survivors are his wife, the former Bernadine Stallman; four sons, Chester Kiefer, Irving, Texas, William, Raymond, and Carroll Kiefer; and two daughters, Mrs. George Beavers and Mrs. Jack Cole, both of Shively; 29 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery. The body will be at Ratterman's, 2114 W. Market after 6 p.m. Thursday.
