She was born in Prescott, Arkansas on August 1, 1918 to Alma and Thomas Morrow. Thelma was one of eight children. Her husband of 49 years, Herman Braxton Lloyd, preceded her in death. She moved to Chapel Hill in 1943 and worked for the US Civil Service, War Department, Morehead Foundation and Lloyd Builders during her lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter Donna Maria Lloyd of Chapel Hill; her son Dr. Danny Keith Lloyd and wife Anne Murray Lloyd of Durham; four grandchildren Kelly Posillipo, Scott Ellington, Braxton Lloyd and Katherine Lloyd; great-grandchildren Cassie Rickman, Mitchell Posillipo, Ava Ray and Greyson Wyland; two sisters Joy Slatton and Carolyn Palmer; and one brother Herbert Morrow all residing in Arkansas.
Thelma was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her visits to the beach. Her passions were gardening, reading and cooking.
