Mrs J H Seymour, Son, Die Only Hours Apart

Checy O Seymour, 96 - year - old Wellington woman and her oldest son died only a few hours apart Thursday, May 1.

Mrs. J H Seymour, who lived at Thomas Nursing Home, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital at 2:30 Pm, while her son, Carl H, Seymour,67, a long-time
Shamrock resident, died earlier In the day. Both had been in failing health.

The Seymour family came to Colllngsworth County In 1920
and lived, at Lutie and Quail before settling at Dodson in
1926. Mrs. Seymour came to Wellington three years ago.
The former Mary Oldham, Mrs, Seymour was born March 22, 1883, in Hill County. She and Mr. Seymour were married April 17, 1901 at the home of her parents at Colorado City.
He preceded her in death in 1958.

Mrs. Seymour was a member of Trinity United Methodist
Church, Besides her church, she devoted her life to her
family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at Trinity Methodist
Church at 10:30 n.m. Monday, May 8, with the Rev. Loyd
Futch, pastor, officiating. Burial was In Dodson Cemetery
under the direction of Coley Funeral Home at Hollis.

Pallbearers were Thurman Crownover, Floyd Whitson, Farris
Cornelius, Pete Bell, Clinton Norman and Gene Gollihare

Surviving Mrs. Seymour are three daughters and four sons: Mrs. Jack Pritchard of Shamrock; Mrs. Joe Birchfield of Wellington; Mrs. R. L. York of Wichita Falls; C. A. Seymour and Clyde Seymour of Corona, Calif.; Claude Seymour of Vinson; and Milton Seymour of Chandler. There are 27 grandchildren.

Services for Carl H. Seymour were conducted at 3 pm Sunday in the llth Street Baptist Church at Shamrock. The
Rev. Hoyt Ellis of Hollis, former pastor of the church and a long-time friend of the family, officiated and burial was in Shamrock Cemetery.

Mr Seymour is survived by his wife and 10 children.
