Unknown parents. According to DNA Nathan is the descendant of Albertus Hendrickson who came to America in 1662 from Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. He became a prominet citizen and land owner of the Delaware region, later to become Chester Co. Pennsylvania. This line is considered the "Frontier Hendrix".

Nathan served in the Civil War, 4th Regiment, Arkansas Cavalry. According to a family narrative he had been married twice before marrying Sarah Roland Sept.6 1865. To this union eight children were born. He and his family moved from Arkansas to Texas and lived in Fannin, Cooke, Wise, Young and Old Greer County, now Oklahoma.

Daughter Lillie May is buried next to him.
