The Wellington Leader April 6, 1967

O. E. Rogers, 84, a retired farmer, died in St. Joseph's Hospital Sunday, April 2 at 7:10 a.m. He had lived in Collingsworth County since 1926.

Born at Batesville, Arkansas on February 21, 1883, Mr. Rogers grew up in that area. He was married at Batesville to Miss Francis Repine on November 5, 1911. They continued living there until they brought their family to this county.

They lived for a number of years in the Plymouth and Samnorwood communities, then moved to Garden Valley in Childress County. After a few years they returned and lived west of town until her retired from farming about 10 years ago. Mr. Rogers was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Francis Rogers of Wellington; two sons, Henry Rogers of Wellington and Edgar Lee Rogers of Amarillo; two brothers, Robert Rogers of Pompano Beach, FL, and Bandy Rogers of Little Rock, AR; three sisters, Mrs. Lockey Heckert of Cotter, AR, Miss Daisy Rogers and Mrs. Geneva Gathright of Groveland, CA; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
