She was born on Aug. 9, 1920, in Stanley and was a daughter of the late Eddie W. and Edith Mae Painter Hilliards.
Mrs. Freeze was a homemaker and a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ.
On Jan. 1, 1944, she married Glendon D. Freeze, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are eight daughters, Janet Reynolds, Donna Wallace, Carolyn Sours and Angela Painter, all of Stanley, Brenda Brown and Martha Brown, both of Shenandoah, Patricia Painter of Luray and Faye Graham of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. a son, David Freeze of Elkton; three brothers, Arley and Charles Hilliards, both of Stanley and Carson HIlliards of Shenandoah; two sisters, Doris G. Hilliards of Stanley and Maudie Tappy of Shenandoah, 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Judd; and two brothers, Isaac Shirley Gene 'Jay Bird' and Jake Buddy Hilliards.
Burial in the Newport Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
