Henry Melvin Burdick, 78, retired Loving farmer, moved to Loving in 1908 from Kansas and was a longtime member of the Loving Baptist Church and Loving Masonic Lodge.

Henry Burdick married Cleo Caswell Purselley in 1908 at Loving, Texas. The couple lived at Hastings, Oklahoma for seven years before returning to Young County.

Survived by his wife; four daughters - Mrs. Rubye Burdick, Mrs. Dan "Juanita" Johnson, Mrs. Faydelle Beck, Mrs. Clytee Scobee; there brothers - Roy, Ray and Arthur Burdick; three sisters - Mrs. Lydia Horn, Mrs. Cynthia Blevins, Mrs. Myrtle Cook; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
