Funeral services for Willie Allen "Buddy" Mason Sr., 83, of Wisner, were held at Apostolic Faith Chapel in Gilbert on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 with Rev. Virgil Harris and Rev. Billy Martin officiating. Burial followed at Holly Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Mason was born March 7, 1926 in Leland, La., and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 at his residence in Wisner. He was retired from Wisner Minnow Hatchery and a member of the Pentecostal Faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Will Mason; mother, Lizzie (Hewitt) Mason; two brothers: Dewitt Mason and Harvey Mason; sisters: Gladys Mason, Myrtis Roberts, Virtis Lee Hutto, Reatha Mae Bowlin, Nettie Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Margie (Adams) Mason of Wisner; two sons: Edwin Dale Mason and wife Jenny, and Willie Allen Mason Jr. and wife Charlotte, all of Wisner; four daughters: JoAnn Edwards and husband Buddy of Wisner; Christine Brown and husband Greg of Sicily Island; Geneva Cupp of Wisner; and Deana Kay Trahern and husband Johnny of Wisner; three sisters: Eloise Smith of Sicily Island; Bessie Roberts of Ferriday; and Jewel Ferrington and husband Jackson of Wisner; 14 grandchildren: Kevin Deon Edwards, Bradley Shane Edwards, Tina Price Waldrop, Charles Ray LeBlanc, Keesha Mason Bordelon, Tosha Mason Adams, Brandon Allen Mason, Chassity Mason, Kasey Mason Welch, Angie Mason, Logan Cupp, Bryson Parker, Tristan Trahern, and Allison Trahern Wollerson; and 23 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
