His first 2 sons, Newton A and Joseph W Baker, were born in Monroe County, and by 1840 the family had moved to Gallia County, Ohio where they are seen in the 1840 census residing in Walnut Twp. The family has not been found listed in the 1850 census. Henry A Baker died in 1853; and in 1860, Rebecca Baker age 46, is seen as a widow living in Walnut Twp with her children. He and Rebecca were the parents of seven known children; Newton A, Joseph W, Louvisa C, Nathan L, Virginia S, Frances C, Henrietta.
