Royce Higgins Acker Sr., 70, of 268 Morgan St., Oberlin, died last night in the Golden Acres Nursing Home, Amherst. He had been a patient there since December.

Born in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., Jan 17, 1905, he had lived in the Oberlin area since 1941.

Mr. Acker was an Ohio district sale manager for the Howmet Corp., retiring in 1970. He was a member of the First Church, Lodge No. 360 F and AM, and the El Rey Grotto.

Surviving are his wife Esther; a daughter, Mrs. John (Nancy) Crosby, Medina, N.Y., and a son, Royce Jr., Elnora, N.Y.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Syril Navarre, Mrs. Royal Goettleman, both of Sturgeon Bay, Wis., and Mrs. Henry Radi, San Antonio, Tex,

Friends will be received in the Cowling Funeral Home, Oberlin, tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic services will be conducted there tomorrow evening.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. John Elder officiating. Burial will be in the Westwood Cemetery, Oberlin.
