Proctor "Bill" Patton, Jr. was born January 26, 1927 and departed this life Friday, September 20, 2013 reaching the age of 86. He was the son of the late Proctor Patton, Sr. and Lizzie Lou (Hurt) Patton.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Massengale and to this union 7 children were born.
He is survived by: 4 sons, Billy (Julie), Larry (Rhonda), Donald (Teresa), and Bobby (Christy) Patton all of Monticello, KY; 3 daughters, Janice McGinnis (Phil), Cindy, and Tracy Patton all of Monticello, KY; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by: one brother, Herbert Patton, one sister, Alice Hill; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Proctor and Lizzie Patton, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Dorothy Patton; 3 brothers, Jessie, Ira Lee, and Berry Patton; and 2 sisters, Ida Davidson and Lustina Fulton.
He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 5-9pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 1pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Oral Denney & Bro. Darrel Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: CANADA CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH.
