Mary Ida Davidson was born April 26, 1925 and departed this life Saturday, January 9, 2010 reaching the age of 84 years. She was the daughter of the late Proctor and Lizzie (Hurt) Patton.
She is survived by: 4 sons, Everett (Sherrie) Patton of New Paris, IN, Danny (Linda) Davidson of Goshen, IN, Steve (Nancy) Davidson of Kimmell, IN, and Jeffrey Davidson of Goshen, IN; 3 daughters, Betsy Penrose of Goshen, IN, Loretta (Rick) Kline of Avilla, IN, and Becky (Larry) Kauffman of New Paris, IN; 1 son-in-law, Thomas Crabtree; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by: 2 brothers, Bill and Herbert (Della) Patton both of Monticello, KY; and 1 sister, Alice Hill of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, Proctor and Lizzie Patton, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Otha Davidson; 1 daughter, Patricia Crabtree; son-in-law, John Penrose; and 1 grandchild, Nathan Kauffman.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

WAKARUSA — Mary I. Davidson, 84, 300 N. Washington St., Wakarusa, formerly of Goshen, died Saturday at 9:03 p.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, where she was admitted on Sept. 28, 2004.
She was born April 26, 1925 in Mt. Pisgah, Ky., to Proctor and Lizzie (Hurt) Patton.
She married Otha Davidson, Jr., Jan. 1, 1948 in Monticello, Ky. He died Aug. 7, 1990.
She was a homemaker who loved to quilt and garden. She had a servant's heart and was a kind-spirited woman who loved her family. She was well-known for her fried chicken.
Surviving are her daughters, Betsy Penrose, Goshen, Loretta (Rick) Kline, Avilla, and Becky (Larry) Kauffman, New Paris; sons Everett (Sherrie) Patton, New Paris, Danny (Linda) Davidson, Goshen, Steve (Nancy) Davidson, Kimmell, Jeffrey Davidson, Goshen; son-in-law Thomas Crabtree, Milford; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister Alice Hill, Monticello, Ky.; and brothers Bill Patton and Herbert (Della) Patton, both of Monticello, Ky.
She was preceded in death by daughter Patricia Crabtree; brother Jesse Patton; son-in-law John Penrose; and grandson Nathan Kauffman.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and two hours prior to the 11 a.m. Thursday funeral service at Marvin Hicks Funeral Home, Monticello, Ky. Pastor Clyde Adkins will lead the service.
Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery, Monticello, Ky.
