A.E. EDWARDS DIES WEDNESDAY AT FERRIDAY
Anderson Eugene Edwards, age 73, died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning of this week at the Ferriday Clinic, after several days illness with with [sic] pneumonia. Mr. Edwards was born in Caldwell Parish, and moved to LaSalle Parish when a child. He resided in Jena practically all his life and was well known throughout this section, many knowning him only as "Uncle Genie". About one year ago he moved to Grant Parish where he was engaged in business at the time of his death. Mrs. Edwards preceeded him to the grave by several years.
Funeral services will be held today at Pine Grove Baptist church near Rhinehart, with the Rev. Morland Doughty, of Tullos, in charge. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena.
The deceased is survived by eight sons and two daughters, viy: Eunie, Hardie and Bruce Edwards of Jena, Coy, Cam and Anderson Edwards, of Jonesville, Frank Edwards, of Newelton and manuel Edwards of Coushatta; Miss Bettie Edwards, of Jena, and Mrs. Dorothy Morris, of Jonesville.
The Times joins the many friends of the bereaved family in Jena and LaSalle Parish in extending heartfelt sympathy.
