Obituary: The Randolph Leader, 31 August 1994

WEDOWEE, AL -- Era Boyce Weathers, 90, of Wedowee died Sunday, August 28, 1994, in Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke, after an extended illness.

Funeral services were 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 1994 at Wedowee First Baptist Church, with Revs Bob Karcher and John Duncan officiating. Burial was in Wedowee City Cemetery.

Mrs. Weathers is survived by four grandsons, Jack Weathers of Jacksonville, FL, Ben Weathers of Guatemala City, Guatemala and Mike Weathers and Chris Weathers of Anniston; two granddaughters, Beth and Clair Weathers of Anniston; one sister, Mary Frances Ingram of Valley; one brother, Ralph Ballard of Valley, and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Hulond Humphries, Faye Williams, Richard Ballard, Ronnie Young, Rickey Daniel, Bill Wilson, Vernon Lipham and Coleman Sikes.

Mrs. Weathers was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County. She was a teacher in the Randolph County School System for 37 years, and was a member of Wedowee First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jackson Weathers.

Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee was in charge of arrangements.
