Ralph W. Ballard, 84, of Valley died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. EST at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Ballard is survived by his wife, Marion Underwood Ballard; one daughter,Patricia B. Meigs of Lanett; one son, Richard Ballard of Lanett; one sister,Mary Frances Ingram of Valley; one grandchild; two step-grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild.
Born Nov. 11, 1918, in Randolph County, Mr. Ballard was a veteran of World War II, where he served with the U.S. Army and was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens Martex Warehouse in Fairfax with more than 43 years of service with the company. He was a member of Fairfax First Baptist Church, the American Legion and was a former member of the Lion Club. Mr. Ballard was preceded in death by his son, Ralph Stephen Ballard. He was the son of the late Nancy
Gertrude Fincher Ballard and William Jackson Ballard.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fairfax First Baptist Church, Chattahoochee Hospice or to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
