Susan Elaine Rexrode, 52, a resident of Ritenour Retirement Home, Staunton, died Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond.
Mrs. Rexrode was born March 30, 1950, in Alexandria, and was a daughter of the late Bernard Monroe and Mable Ruth Knott King.
On Aug.15,1969, she married Cecil Ray Rexrode, who preceded her in death April 17, 2002.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Mayne of Verona; four sisters, Linda M. Rexrode of Weyers Cave, Ruth A. Wayson and Mary A. Bennett, both of Mount Solon, and Lelia Whetzel of Verona; four brothers, James B. King of Verona, George E. King and Arnold H. King, both of Mount Solon, and Garland C. King of Staunton; and one granddaughter.
The Rev. Warren Lee Knott will conduct a memorial service 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
At Mrs. Rexrode’s request, her body will be cremated following the visitation, and burial will be at the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
