Bernard Monroe King, 65, of Mount Sidney died Feb 20, 1992, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.

Mr. King was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Alexandria and was a son of the late Garland R. and Lelia V. May King.

He lived in Mount Solon and in Weyers Cave before moving to Mount Sidney three years ago. He was a security guard with Central Security.

Surviving are his wife, Mable R. Knott King; five daughters, Ruth A. Wayson and Mary A. Bennett, both of Mount Solon, Susan E. Rexrode of Spring Hill, Lelia Whetzel of Verona and Linda M. Rexrode of Weyers Cave; four sons, James B. King of Verona, George C. King of Mt. Solon, Arnold H. King of Vista, Calif., and Garland C. King of Staunton; two sisters, Hazel Gillaspy of Hazelwood, Mo., and Ruby Phillips of Crozet; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Ray Tabor will conduct the funeral at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Stokesville Community Church. The Rev. Luther Ramsey will conduct a burial service at Mount Solon Community Cemetery.

The Bridgewater Veterans of Foreign Wars Myers- Hodges Post No. 8644 will conduct military grave rites.

The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home in Bridgewater.
